True confession…I’m a terrible messy mom. I get really tense when the kids want to pull out paint. Even the washable ones. It’s not something I’m proud of – I always envisioned myself as a totally fun mom who allowed messes galore. That’s not my reality. I turn into a control freak and by the end, I suck the fun out of the whole thing.

But, then I discovered these.
Thin Stix Tempera Paint Sticks. A game changer.
They’re washable, quick drying, washable, tempera, mess free, washable paints. And they’re in a twist up crayon form that are SIMPLE for little hands. Did I mention they’re washable?
I really can’t tell you how exciting it was for me to turn my 4 year old loose with them. We had a wintry day with no hopes for playing outside and I needed a way to pass the time. He sat and painted with one of his sisters and they had a blast.
The true test for me was the finished product.
Would it really dry like paint?
It totally passed the test. The final project – which dried in a little over a minute – was great! It wasn’t smudged. There were no gloppy messes. And when one layer dried, another color was successfully added on top without the colors mixing.
According to The Pencil Grip, Inc., the paint sticks “work great on poster paper, cardboard, wood and even canvas.” They are “AP certified non-toxic, as well as gluten, egg, dairy, soy and peanut free”. In these days of scary kid allergies, it’s nice to know these paints are safe.
Grab a pack or two of these (aff) today. You won’t be sorry. While you’re ordering, pick up a few extras for kid gifts down the road.
Take a moment to watch these babies in action!
