Part of the fun of the Christmas season is the countdown. Advent calendars are a fun way to do that. Buying them are always an option – you can find them pre-filled with chocolates or other items, but it’s so much fun to make your own. And it doesn’t have to be hard! Check out the fun, easy DIY Advent Calendars and Christmas Countdowns we’ve rounded up for you!
This Toilet Paper Roll Calendar is easy to make. Make your own version with colors and fun embellishments. Would also be cute to combine this idea with this toilet paper wreath!
Speaking of wreaths, this wreath is so much fun! We love the colors! To keep things symmetrical (if that’s important to you, too), mix up the order of countdown envelopes so the wreath doesn’t have bare spots —- it also makes it a bit more fun to hunt for the countdown day!
You can’t get much simpler than brown paper bags! This version of the calendar is simple to assemble, but makes a statement when it’s put on the wall.
This idea is just as simple, but is a lot cleaner looking and fits a more minimalist or contemporary decor by using envelopes instead of paper bags.
Take a mini muffin tin, cut 2¼-inch circles from an adhesive magnet sheet. Adhere to patterned paper and cut out. Add your numbers on smaller pieces of paper, stuff the wells and there you go! Punch holes in the top with a hammer and large nail or punch tool and hang with a ribbon! (source)
Getting the kids involved is always fun and Legos are even more fun! Check out these ideas for Lego advent calendars!
If you have a vinyl cutting machine, this is a great way to use it!
Aren’t these little boxes the cutest?! Add teeny trees (or other items if you prefer) and fill the boxes. This link also has a template for countdown flags.
Ho! Ho! Ho! This Santa Beard Countdown is cute and so fun to make! Have the kiddos create Santa’s beard as the days tick away!
This is a sweet way of making someone feel special this holiday season. How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.
